Cooking Class for Busy Mom

Darin is a successful top senior executive in Manhattan who balances family and work; however she wanted to learn to prepare some of her family’s favorite dishes at home. Her husband and three children were out and about one summer day in Aspen while Darin suited up with and apron, chef’s knife in hand. With each dish, we incorporated techniques that would make cooking easier and that she could apply to many dishes, such as how to roast veggies. At the end of the three-hour cooking class, Darin said she had a blast and was absolutely enthusiastic about trying new recipes at home.

Cooking Class Menu:

  • Chicken Tikka Masala with coconut jasmine rice
  • Thai chicken soup with shrimp and chicken
  • Homemade garlic naan
  • Easy-peasy meatloaf
  • Almond-crusted parmesan chicken fingers
  • Thai noodle salad with peanut sauce
  • Apple crisp

Absolutely amazing! We did a private cooking class for my sister’s bachelorette weekend in Aspen. It was so much fun!

Grilled Shrimp Skewers

Whole Foods carries wild caught Gulf shrimp which I like to coat with Thai chilis and cilantro, then grill.

She prepped a delicious and healthy meal for my family using all local and in season ingredients our first night in Aspen. We loved it so much that we had to have her come back to teach us a cooking lesson!

Spanish Tapas

Spanish tapas make a great theme for cooking class dinners. Mussels are prepared with chorizo and served with a glass of Albariño.

I’m marveling at the homemade Minestrone soup with turkey meatballs that I made with Chef Sarah during a one-on-one cooking class. The ingredients are totally tailored to my needs: organic, gluten-free, nut free and no sugar....I highly recommend Sarah for your next event or if you could use some menu inspiration to reignite your healthy cooking. Thank you so much Sarah! Can’t wait for our next class!

Cupcakes

With so many gluten-free clients, my go-to cookbook is Oh She Glows. These gluten-free vegan cupcakes are so rich and delicious, everyone in your group will clamber for seconds.

Chef Sarah put on the best cooking class we have ever attended. The food was exquisite and she broke down the recipes to manageable steps that we look forward to repeating on our own. Undoubtedly, the most fun I’ve ever had in a kitchen and the most delicious food we have eaten in the valley.

I had the most terrific experience with food and health and happy people working with Sarah Mandell. We put together a cooking class with friends to learn about healthy foods. She is passionate, and so talented at bringing together good food in a beautiful way.
