Sarah Mandell has been providing chef services in Telluride and the Western Slope since January 2007. She has served clients from all over the country as well as international visitors. Sarah caters to those with discerning tastes and an appreciation for high quality ingredients and impeccable service.
Prior to moving to Colorado, Sarah founded Flourish in Los Angeles in 2003 where she worked as a personal chef for four years. She also conducted cooking classes and helped many clients who were making dietary changes based on health issues. In Los Angeles, she cooked for families, those in the entertainment industry, busy professionals, and companies who provided meals to their employees. She was often recommended by those in the holistic healing area to help patients improve eating habits and diet.
Sarah attended The School of Natural Cookery in Boulder, Colorado in 2003 and completed the Personal Chef Certification Program there. She also completed internships at Millennium, a gourmet vegan restaurant in San Francisco, and an apprenticeship with a well-known raw foods chef in Los Angeles.
Sarah became a personal chef in order to share her passion for and knowledge of organic whole foods cuisine. She is able to cater to all tastes and preferences from a menu that satisfies the consummate meat eater to a meal that will wow the taste buds of any vegetarian. It’s all about bringing joy to the table.

Sarah moved to Montrose in 2007 where she currently resides with her two dogs, Nikki and Max. Aside from cooking, she loves to hike, bike ride, cross country ski, travel, and make dinner with friends. She is often asked what her specialty is – ‘amazing salads and just taking whatever is in the fridge and pantry and creating something from nothing.’
Although cooking is a second career for Sarah (previously a corporate marketing executive for 18 years), she comes from a long line of gourmet cooks including her mother, grandmother, uncles and cousins who still share recipes today.
“Cooking is truly one of my greatest joys – I’m happiest when cooking for people. It’s quite a thrill to prepare a meal for clients and see and hear that they are savoring every bite. It’s a fun-filled performance every time.”
